Bond Cars

Bond Cars were built in the UK in Preston from 1949 to 1974. My father owned one, a Minicar Mk F Ranger, when I was young and I always had a fascination with them. Early Bonds were built by sharps Commercials who took on the job of building a light weight 3 wheeled car from the designs of engineer Lawrie Bond. The Bond Minicar Mk A, introduced in 1949 hasd a 122cc Villiers 2 stroke single cylinder engine. The Minicar was developed over the years, ending with the MkG from 1962 which by now had a 250cc Villiers engine. Sharps commercials had by now been rebranded Bond Cars.
